5 Things High-Performing Teams Do Differently
I have always been a proponent of employee autonomy as a tool to empower and create amazing teams and develop competence, and relatedness. Friedman discusses the role of relatedness in creating high-performing teams. His study found five critical differences between high-performing teams and their less successful peers. These differences include the following:
Frequently communicating with colleagues via phone.
Running more strategic meetings.
Bonding over non-work topics.
Expressing and receiving appreciation.
Being more authentic at work.
Ultimately, I’ve found these practices help to create a workplace that fosters close connections and contributes to team performance.
